Luca Dellaverson's multimedia works examine how the modern world processes recent histories and cultural products. In video installations and glass and resin pieces, Dellaverson considers his generation's relationship to the 1990s, presenting art-historical and pop culture references through cracked glass lenses and chemically altered film. These materials create layers of distance, which allude to a sense of disenchantment and question the power of nostalgia and memory in an ever-changing society. Materiality is central to Dellaverson's approach. His use of cracked glass, translucent resin and chemically manipulated film introduces barriers between the viewer and the images presented. The fractured and altered imagery consequently occupies an uncertain space between familiarity and obscurity, suggesting the way memories can remain recognisable while becoming increasingly fragmented over time.

Dellaverson's engagement with the 1990's is therefore more than an exercise in nostalgia. The decade functions as a point of cultural reference through which he considers how a relatively recent past is remembered by a generation that experienced it, directly or indirectly through an increasingly mediated visual culture.
